First Meeting

When I crossed that street I had no idea; no idea I was meeting my dear love. That I was walking towards a man that will become my other half, kiss away my tears, hold my hand, talk into the early morning with and cook breakfast together in the morning.

Life is funny like that. I had reached a point where I was okay to be alone. I was settled with myself and okay with what the future would bring.

It was after weeks of talking to each other and getting ready to meet up with him I had no expectations and it was in that moment I found him.It kind of makes everything that happened before us have more meaning.

Over a year and a half strong and I look forward to what our future brings us.

Countdown...

I didn't have much of a Summer since I decided to take on Summer school with my Pre-K class. I love working with them and will miss them but doing the program burnt me out. Summer is a necessity for teachers, it gives them time to recoup from the school year with 18- 30 little munchkins. Summer gives teachers back that joy and love that made them want to be teachers in the first place. That love gets tested everyday with demands from administration, parents, kids and other co-workers and it slowly chips away at you.

This week is my prep and staff development week then I get a mini reprieve until September. I can not wait. After a whole year I get to see my mom again! I'm going to Puerto Rico and my boyfriend is coming along! After being together for over a year he gets to finally meet my mom in person (instead of through FaceTime and Skype) I can't wait.
Besides that I am enjoying a few peaceful minutes at my dining room table updating and refreshing my little etsy shop. And mulling over the idea that I might be Los Angeles bound next year.

My boyfriend was offered a job in L.A. with a company that works with artists in creating, filming and producing films, music videos etc.
I'm trying to wrap my head around the fact of leaving New York. I am not so sure I can do it. However the thought of the beach, warm weather year round and a laid back atmosphere sounds very tempting.

A lot of things running through my head though and a lot of countdowns to keep track of.
Right now it's the countdown to P.R.

All my love
Shari

Looking back- Fun day at the parade...

This was suppose to be posted back in February but with work and planning my boyfriend's birthday this post was never updated. Please excuse the lateness...

So back in February my boyfriend ask if I wanted to go to a chinese parade related to an asian channel he works for. Not thinking too much into it I said yes thinking it would be nice to go to China Town and hangout for the day.
I had no idea that I was actually going to be walking in the parade. In the front line with the banner with my boyfriend and James Adam Shelly.

It was fun to be in a parade for once and meeting James Adam Shelly was pretty cool. He is good friends with my boyfriend and they worked together for a while before the band he is in, American Authors, hit mainstream.I found it so interesting that he plays the banjo and how it was being on stage on some talkshows on tv.

Here is the music video of their first of many hits Best Day of My Life:

Life Changes

I forgot to mention a while back that my best friend for about 16 years is getting married to a great guy she met online (on Match no less). They were together a total of 4 years before he popped the question and since then its been a whirlwind year.
And on July 18th they get married and become man and wife.

I am excited and a bit sad. Life is moving so fast! We are all changing- getting older.

Its a happy sadness if that makes any sense.

We all live our lives not realizing that the tiny changes accumulate and when we sit and look back so much has changed.

I am feeling a bit nostalgic so please bear with me. I just finally had a moment to think since it has been crazy couple of months. Now that the wedding is getting closer my duties as maid of honor has amped up as well.

Add to that the fact that 2 months ago I finally moved in with my boyfriend. It is exciting to have a place together and decorate and furniture shop and have a little place that is ours. There were moments that I never thought I would be in this place and I am really grateful.  He is a great man and I never thought I would find anyone like him.

It's Been Awhile...

I am a bit late in updating and I take full blame for that one. I got another awesome pre- K teaching position and once I got through the interview the process and paperwork had begun. Then afterwards the classroom was in need of a revamp and routines needed to be established.
Only today after getting a snow day was I able to have a moment to even update and revamp my little shop on etsy. I made good sales but not up to par with my previous year and as a I mentioned before I really need to take up my boyfriends off on better pictures.

He just recently finished up a photo shoot for his close friend (who is a burlesque dancer) and they came out old Hollywood glamorous.I played photo assistant- fun! As a result I got some great Halal food for dinner and some invites to see a burlesque show and makeup and hair tips.

Here are some pics from the shoot:

Once I am done with some other work I will update on the past two months- I pinky swear!

Love <3
